Birgit Hoinle won Award for Teaching for Sustainability (BNE Lehrpreis) for the seminar ‘Faire Schokolade on air’  [16.12.22]

Birgit Hoinle won the first award in the contest for teaching in the area of education for sustainable development.

The award is for the seminar ‘Faire Schokolade on air’ that she offers every winter semester together with Raquel Cayapa (Kallari Futuro) and Matzel Xander (Freies Radio Wüste Welle) in the program Studium Oecologicum, at the University of Tübingen. The seminar integrates perspectives of the Global South and local initiatives on the topic of fair trade in the cocoa sector via cooperation with Fair Afric Ghana and Kallari Ecuador, two initiatives that organize the chocolate value chain in the producer countries. The students conduct interviews on fair chocolate and produce then their own radio program in the local radio station Wüste Welle.

The laudation and video about the seminar can be found here.
