"Diversity on our plates" action week

14.–17. April 2026 | Canteen, University of Hohenheim

Our daily food choices affect not only our health but also biodiversity in our fields. Institutional food service provides over 16 million meals to people in Germany every day. In this context, it serves as a key lever for initiating and implementing change.

As part of the “Diversity on our Plate” action week, the focus is therefore on legumes and their potential for diverse, sustainable agriculture. A special campaign dish will be offered in the cafeteria every day. Look forward to delicious and varied dishes featuring regionally grown black chickpeas or kidney beans from lbv-Schrozberg.

The campaign week is organized by the BiodivRegio project at the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences and the University of Hohenheim in collaboration with the Tübingen-Hohenheim Student Services. The goal is to clearly convey the connections between food and biodiversity.

Alongside the featured dishes, you can visit a campaign booth with interactive activities, such as a quiz with a prize draw and a wheel of fortune featuring exciting questions about legumes, biodiversity, and regional value creation.

An action week to participate in, learn from, and enjoy! For students, staff, and anyone interested. Come on by!
