In a nutshell
What?
Where are community supported agriculture projects in the region of Stuttgart? Where can I find food sharing locations? How can I take part in community gardens? Where can I find initiatives that promote regional pulses?
Why?
Every year since 2022, the department ‘Societal Transition & Agriculture’ offers a research-based learning project in cooperation with the Food Policy Council Stuttgart. The project is targeting students of the Master's program ‘Organic Agriculture & Food Systems’, who can complete it as a practical project (Poafs). The first student group set up a mapping platform, which is now being continuously updated and conceptually developed. The students work in a team on a research question, visit the initiatives, conduct interviews on site and thus add new photos and insights to the mapping platform.
How?
This is a growing map. The aim is to give more visibility to the rich diversity of alternative food networks in the region of Stuttgart and to contribute to their networking. At 111 locations and divided into 14 categories, interested people can explore the Stuttgart area for places of direct marketing, farmers markets, alternative restaurants and other forms of direct networking between producers and consumers.
