Kirsten Gaber ist eine externe Doktorandin am Lehrstuhl für Gesellschaftliche Transformation und Landwirtschaft an der Universität Hohenheim. Sie arbeitet als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Technikfolgenabschätzung und Systemanalyse (ITAS) am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie. Sie hat einen Master of Science in Organic Agriculture and Food Systems der Universität Hohenheim, einen Master of Science in Agroecology der AGRAPOLE – ISARA Lyon sowie einen Bachelor of Arts in Human Geography der University of British Columbia. In ihrer Doktorarbeit beschäftigt sie sich mit den sozioökonomischen Auswirkungen der Digitalisierung im Obstanbau.
In ihrer beruflichen Laufbahn als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Energie- und Umweltforschung (ifeu Heidelberg) sowie am ITAS hat sich Kirsten Gaber auf Digitalisierung in der Landwirtschaft, Ökobilanz (Life Cycle Assessment) von Ernährungssystemen und Biokraftstoffen, Systemmodellierung sowie Nachhaltigkeitsbewertung spezialisiert.
