Prof. Dr. Claudia Bieling

Leiterin

Claudia Bieling leitet den Lehrstuhl für Gesellschaftliche Transformation und Landwirtschaft an der Universität Hohenheim. Als Beitrag zu einer transdisziplinären Nachhaltigkeitsforschung beleuchtet sie die Zusammenhänge zwischen ökologischen und sozialen Dimensionen in Landnutzungs- und Ernährungssystemen. Schlüsselkonzepte ihrer Arbeit sind Kulturlandschaft und sozial-ökologische Resilienz. Sie verfügt über empirische Erfahrungen in einer Reihe von größeren Gemeinschaftsprojekten, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Mitteleuropa.

Claudia Bieling veröffentlicht wissenschaftliche Beiträge im Themenfeld Landnutzung und Nachhaltigkeit und hat für den Verlag Cambridge University Press zwei Bücher herausgegeben (“Resilience and the Cultural Landscape” im Jahr 2012, “The Science and Practice of Landscape Stewardship” im Jahr 2017). Sie ist Haupt-Herausgeberin des Journals  "GAIA - Ecological Perspectives for Science and Society" und Associate Editor für “Conservation Letters”. Darüber hinaus beteiligt sie sich in diversen Gremien, zum Beispiel dem wissenschaftlichen Beirat zum Sonderprogramm Stärkung der Biodiversität des Landes Baden-Württemberg, dem wissenschaftlichen Beirat des Leibniz-Zentrums für Agrarlandschaftsforschung (ZALF) sowie dem Earth System Sciences Advisory Board der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften.

Claudia Bieling verfügt über eine Habilitation/venia legendi zum Fach Landscape Management und hat ihren Doktortitel im Bereich Forst- und Umweltpolitik erlangt (jeweils über die Universität Freiburg). Ihr Studium der Forstwissenschaften schloss sie mit einem Diplom der Universität Göttingen ab.
